This prayer belongs to no one person and to no one group in particular, but to all humanity. In using it, and in encouraging others to use it, one supports no particular organisation or group.
Public opinion is created by a great number of people thinking in the same way about the same thing. Will you add the power of your own thought by employing this Prayer each day, and, wherever possible, place it before others?
The beauty and the strength of this Invocation lie in its simplicity, and in its expression of certain fundamental truths which all men normally and spontaneously accept: the truth of the existence of a higher Intelligence, to whom we vaguely give the name of God; the truth that behind all outer appearances, the motivating power of the universe is Love; the truth that a great Individuality, called by Christians the Christ, came to earth to embody that love in an intelligible form; the truth that love and intelligence emanate from what is called the Will of God; and finally the self-evident truth that the divine plan can be made manifest only through the agency of humanity.
Pure Hearts in the Service of Humanity
The pure hearts who now live upon our planet need to be reassured; they need to hear words of healing, words that explain to them that no, they have not mistaken their context, their era, or even their planet by coming to Earth to live through this period of transition, when an entire world seems to be collapsing to make way for something new; and that yes, to be a pure heart is an immense strength, far more powerful than all the opposing forces and all the darknesses, far stronger even than physical force itself.
The pure heart is immutable, indestructible - it is the one and only constant in this reality made of change. It is the source of all that exists, the centre of the universe, its core, its nucleus. The heart is the essence of all that is: everything begins with it, everything is created by it; and conversely, everything ends in it, everything returns to it.
That cognitive faculty which, in our psychological or spiritual literature, we call "the mind" - that is, the intellect and thought - is entirely subordinate, in thrall to the heart. And the same is true of every other part of your being: your body, your emotions, your psychic faculties; all of it is under the supreme authority of the heart. Your intentions too, of course. Your creativity, your capacity to create the world, to change the state of play upon this beautiful planet that is Earth (Gaia), all of it comes from the heart.
You may well suspect that, one day or another, you will have to turn your attention to it, to take an interest in it. You can well imagine that you cannot remain there, stagnating at the surface, in ignorance of what the heart is.
Your heart is a continent that asks to be explored. I invite you to set off on an adventure into its kingdom. And if you think all this is of relative importance, that there are surely other, real problems to be solved urgently in this world, problems far more tangible and serious than that of the heart, know that if the Earth is succumbing to a generalised biocide, it is because you do not explore your heart. And though many of you seem to have forgotten the profound nature of the organ at the helm, and though some even at times deny its very existence, it is that organ, and it alone, that steers the ship.
In ignorance of what the heart is, in leaving it "as it is," you allow its pollutions to distort and divert your intentions. Yet you know full well, in every recess of your human condition, that there are things to be clarified and that it is there that the cleansing must be done, that it is the heart that must be purified. Because, at the outset, we all have a pure heart.
It is then in the pure heart of humanity that the new world will be built, made of love, of goodness, of beauty and of light.
